Dear Friends,
Through mentorship, recognition, and other important initiatives, Women of Peace Corps Legacy (WPCL) works to open doors for RPCVs to overcome barriers in the workplace and thrive in their careers. Imagine having a mentor supporting you and sharing their wisdom as you navigate your career. We work to build confidence, encourage growth, and set the stage for future success.
And let’s not forget about the incredible power of recognition! Our Kate Raftery Emerging Leader Award shines a light on the amazing contributions of young female RPCVs, while our Deborah Harding Women of Achievement Award recognizes women whose contributions have made a significant and lasting impact on the lives of women and girls. These awards do more than honor their achievements; they create role models who can motivate, uplift, and inspire the next generation. It is a beautiful way to raise awareness of their efforts and to promote a culture that values and supports women.
Additionally, each award winner will designate a financial award to a non-profit organization or Peace Corps project of their choice that supports women and girls. These awards are possible through the generosity of donors like you. Supporting WPCL means investing in a brighter, more inclusive future where everyone benefits from the diverse talents women bring to the table.
Thank you so much for supporting WPCL. We need your contribution to continue our important work! Please scroll down to see how you can make your gift.
Warmly,
Women of Peace Corps Legacy

Past Giving
The Women of Peace Corps Legacy (WPCL) has been a generous donor to the Peace Corps Partnership Program (PCPP); supporting projects that advance women and girls empowerment in communities where Volunteers serve. WPCL has supported this work in two innovated ways:
- Through donations to the Ruppe Gender Development Fund, WPCL helps fund projects such as establishing women’s cooperatives, increasing women’s access to resources and services, exploring gender roles, and building shelters. The Fund provides an exciting matching opportunity for qualifying projects that are posted on the Peace Corps donate website for fundraising. After 15 days, Volunteer projects may receive additional support from the Gender Fund to assist or even finish funding their projects.
- WPCL has also assisted communities and Volunteers by donating directly to their PCPP projects online to help kick off their fundraising. For example, WPCL supported Camp Fortes, a camp designed for 50 Cameroonian girls to come together from all over the local region to learn about sexual and reproductive education, healthy relationships, career and educational development, and gender and HIV topics. This camp, led by local women leaders, created a safe environment to speak about subjects that are important, but often too sensitive to bring up in the classroom.
You can make projects like these a reality for women and girls worldwide! Donate to Women of Peace Corps Legacy TODAY!
